Jeb’s HUGE Domain Name Fail

Poor Jeb. It’s been a tough campaign so far. He’s been beat down by the school bully (Trump), surpassed by the school weirdo (Carson), and totally dissed by the guy he brought into the popular group (Rubio).  Nothing he says works and everything he does makes us feel sorry for him. Add to that his new campaign slogan, “Jeb Can Fix It.”

But, Jeb forgot to buy JebCanFixIt.com. Um…hello? Obviously, he didn’t take the clue when that gay couple bought JebBushforPresident.com.  I get that he just cut a bunch of staffers, but there has to be someone on that staff who might think, “Gee, before we plaster our new slogan everywhere, let’s buy the the domain name — just in case.” Read More

GodToldMe.com Reveals God’s True Choice for President in 2016

Someone here is lying and it doesn’t appear to be God.  At least six GOP presidential candidates have declared “God told me” to run for president.

In 2013, Mike Huckabee stated that he wanted God to decide whether the Huck should run for president.  And God did it! Mike’s in!

2008 Republican National Convention: Day 3

But it appears God is two-timing Gov. Huckabee and has a little Ben Carson on the side. In an interview with Sean Hannity, Dr. Carson said he would run, “If the Lord grabbed me by the collar and made me do it (run for president).” And, by God, the good doctor is in the race!

God is kind of a player when it comes to making guys think he wants them to run for president.

If that happens, I’m probably going to tweet to El Chapo and let him know that we have a common enemy.

Why Does Scott Walker Own Domains About Male Anal Tissue?

Anti-gay, presidential wannabe, Scott Walker, is the only candidate (so far) who owns a domain name related male anal tissue.

Really, he does.*

How Domainers are Doing Right By Caitlyn Jenner

Today, Caitlyn Jenner revealed herself to the world.  And, the world, loved it.  Her Twitter account got more than 1,000,000 followers in four hours.

Team Caitlyn failed to register CaitlynJenner.com or any of the other domain extensions.  But, some domainers, including me, did it for her.

Why I’m Giving BootyCruise.com to KDWB

Dear KDWB / Dave Ryan Show,

I own BootyCruise.com and I want to give it to KDWB.  I know there are a lot of other stations around the country that put a Booty Cruise, but I’m partial to you guys.  I’ve been listening to Dave Ryan since the Lee Valsvik days. Even though I’m too old to still listen to the Morning Show, I still do during my morning commute (I flip between KQ, The Fan, and you guys).

Which New GTLDs are Like the Miami Real Estate Market (Part 2)

If you’re reading this now, you’re in an exclusive club, where the only members are people who geek out over Miami, Florida real estate domain names and who use those names to look for patterns in valuation of some of the new gTLDs.  It’s okay, I’m not telling anyone how interesting this is either.  Let’s save all the good names for us.

If you stumbled on this post accidentally, you should first read Part 1 first. Think of it as the cost of membership.

In this Part 2, I examine domain names associated with some of Miami’s hottest neighborhoods of Brickell, Edgewater, Wynood, and the Design District.  I also look at domains related to one neighborhood that may be one of the next up-and-comers in Miami, Little Haiti / Lemon City.

As in Part 1, I took the names of these neighborhoods with the following domain extensions:  .COM, .NET, .CO, .BUZZ, .IO, and .XYZ.  I also took the names of the neighborhoods, added “condos” to them using all of the same extensions, including .CONDOS.  I used Estibot’s appraisal tool and the values should be used for pattern purposes only. Estibot appraises every .BUZZ name at $0, when it’s clearly not the case.

Which New gTLDs are Like The Miami Real Estate Market (Part 1)

Miami’s residential real estate market has risen like a Phoenix from the ashes of the 2008 financial crisis.   The condo market has seen some of the biggest gains, with many investors who bought in 2009-10 nearly doubling their money.  The recovery has led to a slew of new condo projects springing up in areas that were once drive-by, forgettable real estate.  The Brickell area of downtown Miami continues to boom with condo and retail projects exploding.  The Miami neighborhoods of Edgewater, Wynwood, and the Design District not too long ago were urban blight.  Now, they are hot and getting hotter.  Of course, Miami Beach and more specifically South Beach continue to be popular places to live and new construction is squeezing in where it can.

So what does the Miami real estate market have to with domain names?  As someone who has recently become familiar with the Miami real estate market and someone who loves buying and selling domains, I’ve spent a lot of time lately buying what never registered or dropped .COMs, mostly generic, and mostly focused on the Miami neighborhoods of Brickell, Edgewater, Wynwood, and the scraps of South Beach or Miami Beach .COMs that are somehow still available.   In my quest for Miami-focused domains, I also purchased several .IO, .CO, .XYZ and .BUZZ  TLDs . All of which got me wondering how some of these new gTLDs stack up against each other value-wise for the exact same keyword domains.

Dink.com – No ‘breeders’ allowed.

For those not in the know, Dink is a nifty little acronym invented in the 80’s (its true, Wikipedia said so), which stands for Dual Income, No Kids.  These financial wizards had the good sense and emotional fortitude to abstain from child rearing – and instead fill that hole in their lives with expensive cars, numerous vacations and the high possibility of Early Retirement (DINKER).
oh-you-have-three kids memeThese poor, pitiful souls must endlessly dine out in the finest restaurants to replace the beautiful joy of a toddler flinging spaghetti at them and then crying for two hours. Shells of human beings, they wander the tropical beaches of this world, necessarily paranoid a cartel might realize their net worth. If you’re reading this and thinking, “Hey, that’s me!” well we’ve got an exciting opportunity for you. Over 15,000 people plop the word Dink into a search engine every month, and yet Dink.com is available!  Estibot.com values Dink.com at $47,000, and that’s just a fraction of the $300k that you saved by not popping out your own little poop machine.

Dink.com represents a glorious chance to break away from the endless cycle of BMW models and arguing about whose turn it is to get up and pay the maid. All the antiquing and small dogs in the world can only do some much for your emotional well-being. You need a project, and that project should help all of Dink kind. DomainRoast locked its best interns in the conference room for 3 days and these are the possible uses for Dink.com that they came up with. (We suspect they may have huffed the markers.)
